11 March, 2010Hello Blog followers
Just a BIG hello and apology for not writing sooner folks. I’ve been incredibly busy putting some finishing touches to the new album produced by my good friend Stuie French. It’s been an incredible journey, taking me two years to write with some great people and I can now sit back with a big smile of accomplishment telling some of my favorite stories. Here’s a couple of happy snaps with plenty more vids and content on the way:

Stronger Smarter Summit
22 October, 2009Hi Folks
Towards the end of September I had the pleasure of being invited to perform for a Gala dinner event at the Strong Smarter Summit for Indigenous Education. The event was hosted by the team at the institute and Dr. Chris Sarra – one of Australia’s leading theorists on Indigenous Education and Welfare – along with other dignitaries including the Deputy Prime Minister, Tom Calmer and Jeff McMullen. The event was also a real celebration of real solutions to change the tide of low expectations in schools populated by Indigenous Students. I was really lucky work along side Dr. Sarra once upon a time and to come together to see 450 odd people share their stories and celebrate was such a real gift. You can visit the Stronger Smarter Institute at www.strongersmarter.qut.edu.au – enjoy the picks.
Cheers – AJ
**The Deadly’s 2009**
Hello Bloggers
We travelled towards Sydney town on the 15th of Oct for the 15th annual Deadly awards hosted by the wonderful crew at Vibe.
We had an absolute blast and I even got to host an award with the lovely Carla Grant. No gong this year, but it was simply a
pleasure to get a nomination in with the likes of Gurrumul Yunupingu, Dan Sultan and Buddy Knox. I even got to meet one of
Australia’s greatest AFL players – Mr. Nikki Winmar! Go the Saints.
First Settlement Festival
Hey Hey AJ bloggers
This festival was a local one up towards Redcliffe. It was a great festival with plenty of sunshine and powerboats cruising past for the big race day.
Fantastic gig with a massive turn out – even the young ones were dancing.
Cheers
